General Information
Arguably one of the most beautiful atolls in the South Pacific, if not the world, Manihiki is also renowned as the black pearl capital of the Cook Islands. This simply stunning atoll, home to 400 inhabitants offers a great getaway for those intrepid travelers seeking easily reached, true Cook Island emersion.
Getting There
Air Rarotonga operate a weekly service from Rarotonga. The flight time is about 3.5-4 hours each way depending on weather conditions. The current cost is NZ$1364 return. Be careful, the flight is often booked up weeks if not months in advance and is often delayed or cancelled if bad weather prevails.

If time is on your side and you prefer to travel by sea, the inter-island shipping companies of Taio Shipping & Mataroa Shipping offer transport to Manihiki which takes about 3-4 days to reach there. . Some ships provide limited cabins whilst other ships have none.

Tours
Lagoon cruises or a visit to one of the many black pearl farms can be arranged easily arranged. Budget for NZ$60 per person. Fishing trips can also be arranged for a similar price.

Accommodation
Aside from private stays with local families there are two home stays that can be booked through us;
Manahiki Lagoon Villas is by far the more resplendent with a number of free standing self-contained bungalows on stilts overlooking the lagoon. No hot water. Nightly rate is between NZ$120-220.
Tukao Bay Homestay offer a basic guest room and comes with all meals included. No hot water. NZ$80.00 a night
