General Information
The smallest of the entire Cook Island group, Suwarrow commands only .4sq of land in a lagoon that’s big enough to swallow Rarotonga! Suwarrow is home to thousands of roosting sea birds and thus is Cook Island’s only national park. The island is uninhabitable with exception of a couple of Dept of Conservation staff who monitor the rich birdlife for 6 months of the year and is off-limits to all other visitors. There is no accommodation on the island and you will need a permit to land there. Yachters call in frequently as it is one of the safest lagoons in the South Pacific but all everyone must remain on board at anchorage.
